Mongolian teachers threaten to strike over pay

Thousands of Mongolian teachers have threatened to call a nationwide strike next week over the salary. Teachers are demanding to raise their monthly salary to MNT 1.6 million.

Mongolia’s acting Foreign Minister to participate in UN session

The 72nd Regular Session of the United Nations General Assembly will convene at UN Headquarters in New York, from 19th to 25th of September.
As a member of the UN, Mongolia attends the session every year. This year, acting Foreign Minister Ts.Munkh-Orgil will participate in the session instead of President Kh.Battulga.

US dollar rises against Mongolian tugrik

On 18th of September, at the ‘Naiman Sharga’ currency exchange the Mongolian tugrik stood at MNT 2460.55 against the US dollar. The tugrik has risen by MNT30 against the US dollar from MNT2431 since September 1st.

Saker falcon numbers decreasing

The Mongolian government banned the commercial export of the saker falcon for five years in 2013. Despite this, the birds’ numbers are continuing to decline.
