The Mongolian Cabinet held an special sitting on 22nd of September over the teachers’ demands for a salary rise which has led to strike action.

On the occasion of the International Day of University Sport (IDUS), the Mongolian Student Sports Federation (MSSF) hosted a ‘University Sports and Volunteers’ Forum on 20th of September. The forum took place at a conference hall at the ‘Citi’ Institute in Ulaanbaatar city.

P.Orkhon, an international master of sport has won a gold medal in the women’s – 63 kg category at the World Military Championships. The competition is taking place in Klaipeda, a port city in Lithuania.

On Monday (25th of September), the Mongolian People’s Party (MPP) will hold a congress to choose 30th Prime Minister. Competition for the key cabinet posts has been ongoing in the MPP since parliament voted to dismiss Prime Minister J.Erdenebat.

Thousands of books and a huge crowd of book-lovers have gathered at the 22th Ulaanbaatar Book Fair which opened earlier today (22nd of September).

On 20th of September, Mongolian President Kh.Battulga received representatives of the national judo, freestyle wrestling, boxing and basketball teams, members of which had won medals at the Olympic Games and world championships.

Thousands of students are out of school on Thursday (21st of September) as Mongolian teachers enter the first day of their strike; they are demanding that their monthly salaried be raised to MNT 1.6 million.
