85 year-old skater, Z.Janchiv won a silver medal  at the National Speed-skating Championship of Mongolia, which took place at Khandgait on 7^th of January. Over 60 skaters, aged 30 and above, participated in the competition which was organized by the Mongolian Speed-skating Association. Z.Janchiv competed in the 300 meter category for athletes aged 65 and over.

Z.Janchiv graduated from the National University of Mongolia in 1959. As a second-year student,  he became  interested in skating and  practiced with athletes from the  National Youth Team. Later he went on to win gold, and silver medals in national competitions.
