Member of Parliament and Deputy Chairman of the Mongolian People’s Party (MPP) D.Terbishdagva has requested to stand down. Before the New Year, there were rumors in Government House that he was planning to leave his post; these rumors have now been confirmed. Some people consider that the reason for D.Terbishdagva’s request has been disagreements with other members of the MPP leadership on a number of issues. Currently, the Chairman of the MPP, N.Enkhbayar, is not in Mongolia. Therefore, the appointment of the new Deputy Chairman can only be resolved after his return. The vacant seat is likely to fuel ambitions within the higher levels of the Party.
