By order of Mongolian President Ts.Elbegdorj, the Buryat artist Dashi Namdakov, who created the famous equestrian statue of “Chinggis Khaan”, has been awarded with the “State Prize”. The ceremony took place on 9th December. Three years ago, the five-meter high “Chinggis Khaan” sculpture, was placed in Cumberland Gate, London. Asia has been one of the main themes in Dashi’s work for many years; the sculpture was the last in this project. Ex-Minister of Defense, D.Bat-Erdene bought the statue for USD 2 million.
