The weekly “Information Hour” hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) took place on 8th December. On this occasion, the director of the MFA Policy Planning Office provided information to journalists.
He noted that the number of Mongolian illegal immigrants in South Korea has recently been on the increase; at the same time South Korea has been simplifying visa requirements. Under the visa changes, Mongolians can now travel to South Korea and work there for a three-month period after having paid a MNT 5 million deposit. Some Mongolians, however, have remained in South Korea beyond the three-month visa validy period.
Another topic discussed concerns“ASEM-2016”: The preliminary events and meetings will commence from April 2016. The Development Bank has provided MNT 77.1 billion worth of loans for the six hotels, which will be welcoming the ASEM guests. The “Sky Village” for the heads of state, which is currently under construction at the Sky Resort, will be officially ready before June 2016. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has noted that “Sky village” is not being financed from the State Budget.
