At the invitation of Deputy Speaker, M.Enkhbold, a Chinese delegation headed by Ms. Yan Junqi, Chairperson of the Standing Committee of the Chinese National People's Congress is currently visiting Mongolia. The high-level delegation arrived in Ulaanbaatar on 23rd November. Yesterday, Tuesday 24th, Ms. Yan Junqi and the other representatives visited the “Bogd Khan Palace Museum” in Ulaanbaatar.
The representatives saw the many unique and ancient museum pieces as well as the summer and winter palace of the Bogd Khan, the last supreme spiritual and secular leader of Mongolia.
In total, between 1639 and 1924, there were eight Bogd Khans in Mongolian history. This museum is the palace and monastery of Mongolia’s last monarch, the Eighth Bogd Khan. The monastery ensemble, which consists of eight palaces, was built between 1893 and 1903. The coronation ceremony of the Eighth Bogd Khan took place in this monastery on 29th December 1911.
The official visit of Ms. Yan Junqi, will end today (25th November).
