Following the ASEM (Asia-European summit meeting), the next big event Ulaanbaatar is to host is the XI International Congress of Mongolists (ICM).

Mongolia, China, and Russia, are to begin a road transportation trial on 18th August. This represents the first transit transportation undertaking involving the three countries.

On the fifth day of the Olympics (10th August), world championships’ gold and silver medalist M.Ankhtsetseg in the women’s 69 kg category came eighth. Aged 18, M.Ankhtsetseg lifted total of 237 kg. It is a new record in Mongolian weightlifting athletes. A total of 10 athletes competed in this category.
