The organising committee of Mongolia’s famous Naadam national holiday, held a meeting at State House earlier today (12th of April).

Two Mongolian soldiers were killed and eight others were wounded on Tuesday (11th of April) when a grenade accidentally exploded at Tavantolgoi military training centre 50 km from Ulaanbaatar.

On 11th of April, the Head of the Mongolian Cabinet Secretariat, J.Munkhbat,  presented the Cabinet’s Action Plan for  2016-2020’ to M.Enkhbold, Speaker of Parliament. The action plan contains the policies and national programmes which the new government will implement from 2016 to 2020.

Entitled ‘Multilateral cooperation for fighting domestic violence’, a conference is being held in the Mongolian capital Ulaanbaatar from 11th to 12th of April.

Mongolia’s first ever solar power station began operation in the Khongor soum of Darkhan-Uul province on 19th of January. A second major solar plant will be constructed near the town of Sainshand in the Dornogovi province in Mongolia.

Over a year ago, the public transportation system in the Mongolian capital  introduced smart cards known as ‘Umoney’. However, it is estimated that about 70 percent of bus-travellers in Ulaanbaatar still pay by cash. Furthermore, some people have managed to deceive bus drivers and not make full the payment of MNT 500 or use worn money.

A XIII-century tomb containing the remains of a human has been discovered in Bayan-Ulgii, western province of Mongolia.

Entitled “Spirit of Ballet”, a gala concert will take place in Ulaanbaatar on 19th-20th of April. The event is being organised by the Mongolian Ballet Foundation with Korean Youth Ballet Stars.

The law on the ”Adjustment and Prevention of Conflict of Interest in the Public Service” was transferred to Justice Standing Committee for the last debate on Friday (7th of April).
