Mongolia is marking the 55th anniversary of joining the United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO). To celebrate the event, a new book named ‘UNESCO and Mongolia’ is to be presented and a photo exhibition entitled ‘Mongolia’s Cultural Heritage for the World’ is taking place in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on 31 October.
Mongolian President Kh.Battulga, has received H.E. Jennifer Zimdahl Galt, the United States Ambassador to Mongolia for the last time – as she is due to return home. During the meeting, the President expressed his appreciation to Ambassador Zimdahl Galt for her contribution in developing cooperation between the two countries.

Seventeen people died after an avalanche hit Mt Otgontenger in Mongolia’s Zavkhan Province on 21 October. On that fateful day, a group of twenty-seven climbers aged between 30 and 50 had begun the climb of the mountain; not far from the summit, the avalanche struck.
