Mongolian Prime Minister meets ‘Eagle Huntress’

Mongolian Prime Minister U.Khurelsukh, has held a meeting at State House with Aisholpan Nurgaiv, a 11th grade schoolgirl from the Zaiyed School in Bayan-Ulgii province – better known as the ‘Eagle Huntress’. Aisholpan starred in a documentary film of that name about a young girl from an ethnic Kazakh family of twelve generations of eagle hunters, who against all odds continues the age old tradition.

Cris Derksen Trio to perform in Ulaanbaatar

To mark the 150th anniversary of the Canadian Declaration of Independence, the renowned Cris Derksen Trio will perform a concert in Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia. The concert will be held at the Ulaanbaatar Ensemble on 9 November at 7.00 p.m.

Mongolia plans to eliminate Hepatitis C by 2020

According to the World Health Organization, Mongolia has the world’s highest rate of liver cancer, as well as the highest mortality rate from the disease. Each year, liver cancer and liver cirrhosis account for 15% of all deaths. Chronic hepatitis is the most common risk factor in developing liver cancer, and 400,000 of Mongolia’s 3 million citizens are diagnosed with a hepatitis virus.

Five Mongolians arrested for hacking Facebook

The Cyber Crime Division of the Mongolian Police Department has arrested five young people for hacking the over 20 Facebook accounts and swindling MNT 5 million (USD 2038) from individuals.
