Mongolia is constructing a new international airport to the south of the capital Ulaanbaatar. The new airport will provide better safety and reliability, good links to the city and will contribute to the economic development of Mongolia.

The Government of Japan has agreed to give a JPY 32 billion soft loan to Mongolia.

Mongolian students have dominated the 2017 World Memory Championship which was held in the Indonesian capital Jakarta from 1-3 December. The competition was organized by IAM (International Association of Memory).

An intergovernmental meeting of UNESCO has officially listed the ritual of hill worship as a Mongolian Intangible Cultural Heritage. The meeting is currently being held on South Korea’s Jeju Island, from 4-9 December.

However, on Tuesday (5 December) the European Union published its first blacklist of tax havens, naming 17 territories including Mongolia.

Mongolian President Kh.Battulga, is expected to visit China in 2018. According to Foreign Minister D.Tsogtbaatar, the president will visit Beijing to coincide with a meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).

The “Aceh World Solidarity Cup” international football tournament is continuing in Indonesia at the Harapan Bangsa Stadium, Lhong Raya, Banda Aceh from 2-9 December.

Mongolia has been training human rights inspectors in cooperation with the “Good Neighbours” international organisation. This is the first team of its kind in Asia.
