Electricity Exports to Mongolia, China Up Sharply

Eastern Energy Co. increased
electricity exports to Mongolia by 89 percent year on year
to 166 million kilowatt-hours in the first half of 2012,
the exporter said in a statement.

The company is a wholly owned
subsidiary of state electricity holding Inter RAO and is
the operator for electricity exports in the Far East.

Development Finance Company agreed an $85 million loan for Mongolia’s first
