Former chief of Mongolia’s Central Bank released on bail

N.Zoljargal, a former chief of Mongolia’s Central Bank or Mongol Bank has been released on bail. Ulaanbaatar’s Chingeltei District Criminal Court imposed a travel ban on N.Zoljargal but ruled that it was unnecessary to keep him in custody.

Mongolian Parliament overrules Presidential veto again!

Earlier today, 7 December, the Mongolian State Great Khural (parliament) overruled the latest presidential veto on the 2017 budget amendment. A total of 82.4 percent of the MP’s present in the chamber backed the decision of the two standing committees to reject the veto.

First ever combined agriculture and solar power project

Mongolia is implementing several projects targeted at using renewable energy. Several plants have already been put into operation including the 50 MW ‘Tsetsii’ wind farm in Tsogttsetii Soum of Umnugobi Aimag and a 10 MW solar power plant in Khongor Soum of Darkhan-Uul Aimag.

Mongolia is constructing a new international airport to the south of the capital Ulaanbaatar. The new airport will provide better safety and reliability, good links to the city and will contribute to the economic development of Mongolia.

Mongolian students lead at World Memory Championship

Mongolian students have dominated the 2017 World Memory Championship which was held in the Indonesian capital Jakarta from 1-3 December. The competition was organized by IAM (International Association of Memory).
