The Standing Committee on Nature, Environment, Food and Agriculture met on Wednesday and discussed the appointment of the committee’s chairman.

The MPP caucus nominated D.Baldan-Ochir for the post, and members approved the nomination. The nomination now goes to Parliament for discussion.

The committee postponed discussing the appointment of a deputy chairman of the Air Pollution Reduction Committee because the MPP and DP caucuses have not agreed on a nominee yet.

The committee also discussed the proposed 2012 budget revision, and approved the matter for discussion by the Standing Committee on Budget. But P.Tsengel asked that the revision account for rising fuel and consumer goods prices. Otherwise, P.Tsengel said, the budget may have to be revised again in the spring.
