
They said the citizens of Mongolia have a right to live and work in a healthy and safe environment, but residents of the capital are suffering from poor health due to air pollution. They said the Government has failed in its duty to protect citizens.
The center plans to file the case in February, when pollution in the capital is at its highest annual levels. People suffering from respiratory and heart conditions could apply for compensation through the center.
The lawyers said the Government should pay treatment costs and compensation to citizens with ill health due to pollution. About 100 citizens have already contacted the center, and professional health organizations are investigating their ailments.
