
T.Shimizu thanked G.Batkhuu for receiving him and noted that Mongolia’s per capita GDP is expected to reach about USD 10,000 by the year 2018. He also expressed his satisfaction with becoming ambassador to Mongolia on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Japan and Mongolia. Shimizu stated that he will work with great effort to take bilateral relations and cooperation to a new level and to escalate economic cooperation.
The deputy speaker mentioned that the two countries have close relations, and noted the importance of developing bilateral relations in all economic spheres, not only in mining.
G.Batkhuu emphasized that Mongolia can learn from Japan’s experiences in many sectors. He said Japan can help introduce the latest technologies to Mongolia, and he noted that Japan has rendered assistance to Mongolia in hard times.
During the meeting, the Japanese ambassador asked about Kharkhorin soum in Ovorkhangai aimag, a place that many Japanese tourists visit. The deputy speaker said that Kharkhorin will be a model city in accordance with a presidential decree and that investment and construction projects are underway there.
T.Shimizu said he would work to deepen the two nations’ relations and cooperation and G.Batkhuu said he would support that work.
