Ulaanbaatar city officials headed by Deputy Mayor B.Baatarzorig visited the city’s Water Office on Tuesday.

The office reported on its work in 2011. It said it connected 96 households and eight businesses in the ger district of Dambadarjaa to a clean water and sewage system with the assistance of the World Bank in 2011. The office has also initiated projects to protect the Tuul River, which is a source of drinking water in the capital, and to increase the flow of the Selbe River.

Managing officials said that the office is planning to cooperate with international organizations from Japan, South Korea, the Czech Republic, and Germany to increase the city’s drinking water supply by 2014.
