
A statue of Chin van Khanddorj, Mongolia’s first Foreign Affairs minister, was unveiled in a ceremony on Tuesday. This year marks the centennial of Mongolia’s diplomatic service.
Taking part in the ceremony were Prime Minister S.Batbold; Foreign Affairs and Trade Minister G.Zandanshatar; Education, Culture and Science Minister Yo.Otgonbayar; State Secretary of the Foreign Affairs Ministry D.Tsogtbaatar; diplomats; and former Foreign Affairs ministers.
The statue was designed by sculptor G.Enkhtor with financial support from the Chin Van Construction company. Made of natural granite, the five-meter statue was cast by the Mongol Uran Tsutguur company.
After the ceremony, a special ger that will be used for diplomatic ceremonies was officially opened.
