A conference on disaster preparedness and prevention was held by the National Emergency General Office’s Disaster Research Institute on December 18.

More than 70 delegates from the National Emergency General Office, the Ulaanbaatar Emergency General Office, research organizations, and other relevant groups attended the conference.

The institute has conducted research on the possible effects of disasters, such as floods, earthquakes, outbreaks of communicable diseases, radiation, and fire. It has made recommendation for preparing for or preventing such disasters.

Results of the research will be forwarded to the Science Technology Fund, the National Emergency General Office, the Ulaanbaatar Emergency General Office, and the Mayor’s Office.
