In connection with its centennial, the Ministry of Defense has opened a “Complex for Peace” at the Bagabayan military personnel resort.

The MNT 8.4 billion complex was built by the ministry with aid from the Chinese government. It is located 30 km from Ulaanbaatar and has 51 rooms. A 2.8-km road between Sanzai and Bagabayan was recently built as part of the project.

Defense Minister L.Bold said in an opening ceremony that the complex gives military officials and peacekeeping operation participants a place to relax after completing missions abroad in difficult conditions. He said soldiers and military personnel should be given support from their motherland after defense and peacekeeping activities.

The complex has a meeting hall with a capacity of 200, a restaurant, sauna, sports training facilities, and a swimming pool. It also has a garden, tennis court, basketball and volleyball courts, and a skating rink. A football field will be built next spring.
