“The draft election law has been considered by political parties, unions, movements, and citizens,” reads the statement.
“If the election law will protect all people’s rights, democracy, and fairness, the incident of July 1, 2008, will not be repeated, and all people hope the draft election law will provide such protection.
“Unfortunately, the current draft election law will provide no basis for a fair election in 2012, as it would be organized along the positions of the MPP and DP.
“That is why political parties that have not had seats in Parliament and movements decided to submit some large changes in the draft law relating to preventing fraud and confusion and some provisions that devalued the law. All representatives of the parties and movements have made these suggestions in a united fashion.”
The statement noted that only an independent MP, Z.Altai, could deliver the statement to Parliament on behalf of political parties not holding seats. It also requested the suggestions be considered at standing committee meetings.
