The Ministry for Nature, Environment and Tourism, Ecology Envoy Club and The Civil Council of Mongolian Environment jointly organized an eco parade on Saturday. The original date for the parade was April 14 but this had to be postponed because of the hunger strike by protesters from civil movements. More than 200 people participated in the march from the entral Sports Palace to Freedom Square, raising slogans for a Green Ulaanbaatar and demanding implementation of Article 28.1 of the Forest Law.

The marchers called upon Governors to organize tree planting months each year and asked everybody over 16 years to plant one tree, and all organizations to plant at least five. If they cannot themselves take care of the trees, they should pay the expenses for this.

The planned Eco Festival could not be held because of bad weather. Artists of Tumen Ekh ensemble and Opera House were supposed to play during the festival.
