
Batbold expressed his satisfaction with Mongolia’s successful relations and the UNDP, as well as his satisfaction with the organization’s achievements in the country. He noted that the implementation of Millennium Development Goals (MDG) has reached 66 percent, and has increased GDP and reduced unemployment. The prime minister also said the Government would like to reduce transportation tariffs.
Clark thanked Batbold for receiving her and underlined that Mongolia is one of the countries that is successfully implementing MDG. She said Mongolia’s abundant natural resources make it possible for the country to increase economic growth. Clark also suggested establishing a working group to speed MCG implementation.
S.Batbold thanked Clark for her suggestions and stated that Mongolia is ready to cooperate with the UNDP. The two officials also discussed issues concerning the environment and gender equality.
