141 measles cases have been confirmed in Mongolia, National Center for Communicable Diseases (NCCD) said today /2025.03.31/. The first patients were Mongolian citizens who returned from Vietnam on February 14. Since then the number of new cases has sharply increased, especially in the last 14 days. The highest number of cases is recorded in Ulaanbaatar city, Dundgovi and Umnugovi provinces.
When it comes to confirmed cases by age, those aged 10-14 are most affected.
Measles is a highly contagious viral disease spread through respiratory droplets and direct contact. While preventable through vaccination, its common symptoms include fever, dry cough, runny nose, sore throat, and eye inflammation.
