Mongolia hosts World Women’s Forum

Mongolia, celebrating the centenary of the Mongolian Women’s Federation in 2024, is hosting the World Women’s Forum in Ulaanbaatar on August 22-23. Under President Khurelsukh Ukhnaagiin, the forum will focus on women’s empowerment, gender equality, climate change, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The event features an opening session, plenary discussions, a closing session, and six thematic sessions. This forum aims to address gender inequality and promote women’s leadership as essential for solving global challenges.

State heads, heads of legislative organizations, and ministers from 19 countries, about 20 international organizations, international non-governmental organizations, and women leaders in the fields of business, sports, and art are attending the forum. Slovenian president Nataša Pirc Musar, who is on a state visit to Mongolia, Amina Mohammed, the Deputy Secretary General of the United Nations, representatives of the United Nations system and specialized organizations, the Vice President of Laos, the Deputy Speaker of the Parliament of Bulgaria, The first lady of Kyrgyzstan, and high-ranking officials from Switzerland, Belarus, Uzbekistan, China, Russia, USA, Japan, France, Australia, Turkey, Cuba, United Kingdom have came to Mongolia.
