The 2017-2023 Budget Law of Mongolia stipulates that 7,360 projects and construction works will be financed with state budget funds. Most of these projects, more than 70 percent, are buildings. Year by year, the number of projects and constructions planned with state budget investment is increasing. In 2017, 373 projects were approved, while in 2023, it increased to 1140.

In 2024, 209 new projects were approved for 235.1 billion MNT. 162 projects will be implemented in provinces while 44 is in capital. Three projects will be implemented at the national level. By type of projects, there are 113 buildings, 89 equipments, and 4 major repairs.

The most projects were approved in following provinces, Khovd, Zavkhan, Tuv, Bayan-Ulgii, Khuvsgul and Sukhbaatar. Also the largest funds were budgeted for Hovd, Sukhbaatar, Zavkhan, Darkhan-Uul, Bayan-Olgii and Khuvsgul provinces.
