The new academic year of 2023-2024 has started today /1 September/ with a video lesson by President of Mongolia U.Khurelsukh on the topic “Kharkhorum is the capital of the world.”
Some 75,100 children across the country went to first grade this year. This year, 781,000 children will study in general education schools, which is 35,000 more than last year.
Around 40,000 teenagers will be trained in the vocational education system and 22,000 new students will be enrolled. 147,000 young adults will study in higher educational institutions, and 25,000 young adults will enter institutes and universities.
In addition to legalizing the start and end of classes in preschools and secondary schools, the number of school days during the year was set at 170-185 days in accordance with international standards.
This academic year, 302,000 children have been pre-registered in kindergartens. It is estimated that more than 71,000 new children will be enrolled in the second round of registration.
