The U.S. Embassy in Ulaanbaatar will host an online exhibition entitled “Art with the Ambassador,” on 16 February at 10-11 a.m. U.S. Ambassador Michael Klecheski will host the event live from his home, featuring a collection of original American artwork provided by the Art in Embassies (AIE) program of the U.S. Department of State.
For over five decades, AIE has played an important role in U.S. public diplomacy through a focused mission of vital cross-cultural dialogue and understanding through the visual arts and dynamic artist exchange. The program engages with over 20,000 participants globally, including artists, museums, galleries, universities, and private collectors. It encompasses over 200 venues in 189 countries. The upcoming “Art with the Ambassador” online exhibition will present one of the 60 exhibitions that have been installed in U.S. diplomatic facilities throughout the world.
Some of the artists who created the works on display will join the conversation live from the United States to talk about the styles and inspiration behind their work while Ambassador Klecheski gives a live tour of the art in his home. Participants will have a chance to engage directly with the American artists and with Ambassador Klecheski.
The virtual event is open to the public and will have simultaneous translation. Journalists interested in covering the event may contact us at paspress@usembassy.mn or 7007-6249 for more information.
The American Corners in Ulaanbaatar, Darkhan, Khovd, Uvs and Dornogovi will live-stream the event. Local community members interested in participating in the event are welcome to contact their American Corner directly for details.
