Speaker D.Demberel and MP Su.Batbold visited Jargalant, Bornuur, and Batsumber soums of Tuv aimag over the weekend to inspect the harvests and meet with local farmers.

They visited local factories and wheat and vegetable farms. Some farmers said they were unaware of certain agricultural policies. The officials explained that farmers are exempt from certain value-added taxes, and that the tariff on imported vegetables has increased 15 percent.

The Speaker noted his satisfaction with the harvests, and with the improving standard of living in the area. The farmers are happy to receive a bonus of MNT 50,000 for a ton of wheat.
