The Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), which markets Russia’s Sputnik V COVID-19 vaccine abroad, said on Friday that Mongolia had approved the single-dose version of the vaccine, Sputnik Light.

According to the data, the Sputnik Light vaccine showed an efficacy of 79.4% 28 days after having been administered. RDIF noted that such an efficacy level (near 80%) is greater than that of most of the existing two-dose vaccines.

In February 2021, the two-dose Sputnik-V vaccine was also approved for use in Mongolia under the emergency use authorization procedure. The country of three million agreed with the RDIF to purchase 1 million doses of Sputnik-V vaccines.
