In 2020, the Mongolian population increased to 3.364 million, up 1.8 percent on the previous year, according to data released by the country’s National Statistics Office (NSO).

The population at the end of last year was 3.364 million, following an annual increase of 62,339 people, the NSO said.

The birth rate was 23.2 per 1,000 people and the mortality rate was 4.8 in 2020.

Mongolia, one of the countries with the lowest population density in the world, has a total land area of 1,564,116 square km.
