MIAT, Mongolian Airlines has cancelled a total of 1370 flights since the country grounded all commercial flights in February. As of 30 September, the airline has conducted 75 charter flights to pandemic-hit countries.
Under normal conditions, MIAT had planned to earn MNT 410 billion in revenue for conducting 1657 flights in the first three quarters of 2020. However, the company earned just MNT 130 billion from 287 flights.
Subsequently, L.Khaltar, Minister of Road and Transport Development has tasked the relevant agencies to support airlines such as MIAT, Hunnu Air and Aero Mongolia financially.
