Earlier today (22 October), a ceremony to hand over a donation of sheep was held in the Mongolia-China border region of Zamiin-Uud Soum in Dornogobi Province. The ceremony was attended by Minister of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry Z.Mendsaikhan, Foreign Policy Advisor to the President G.Tegshjargal, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs B.Munkhjin, members of the Mongolian-Chinese parliamentary friendship group, Ambassador of Mongolia to China T.Badral, Ambassador of China to Mongolia Chai Wenrui, other officials from the two countries and local herders.

The first patch of 4000 sheep crossed the Chinese border on trucks. The total of 30 thousand sheep had been collected from herders in Khentii, Sukhbaatar and Dornogobi provinces.

During his visit to the People’s Republic of China on 27 February 2020, President of Mongolia Kh.Battulga handed over a certificate of the donation of 30,000 sheep to President Xi Jinping as a mark of gratitude for China’s support in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
