The National Policy Committee of the Democratic Party assembled yesterday (3 August) to discuss the results of the June parliamentary election in which it suffered a devastating defeat. Immediately after the election, S.Erdene, leader of Democratic Party resigned and transferred his seals of office to deputy Ts.Tuvaan.
Therefore, the Committee decided to hold a Congress of the Democratic Party in 16 November. The Party Congress has been delayed due to the coronavirus lockdowns and preparations for the local council elections. The polling day for the 2020 elections of Representatives’ Khurals (councils) of the provinces, soums and districts of Ulaanbaatar will be held on 15 October.
