Two Mongolians have been confirmed as having coronavirus. The confirmations come after testing 630 samples in four laboratories at the National Centre for Communicative Diseases and the National Centre for Zoonotic Diseases in Ulaanbaatar and Darkhan-Uul province. A 50- year-old woman and a 14-year-old girl were tested positive for COVID-19 and have begun receiving treatment in the NCCD.
Separately, three people were discharged from the NCCD after having fully recovered from the coronavirus infection. So far, Mongolia’s confirmed coronavirus cases have reached to 291; the recovery rate currently stands at 225.
The country of three million reported its first confirmed case of coronavirus in March when French national was diagnosed having COVID-19. Nevertheless, Mongolia has not had any local transmission of coronavirus.
