As at the end of May, a total of 29.2 million new-born animals have been counted across Mongolia, reported the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry.
With the birth rate of livestock, Bayan-Ulgii and Khovd provinces are leading with 97.3 and 93 percent respectively, while the rate in Umnugobi province stands lowest at 44.4 percent.
In total, 67.4 thousand baby camels, 514.6 thousand foals, 986.4 thousand calves, 10.8 million lambs, and 8.6 million kids are being looked after across the country.
According to the census conducted in December 2019, the heads of livestock animals in Mongolia totaled 70 million 949 thousand.
