The 2020 Ulaanbaatar Travel Expo will take place on 29-31 May, but because of the Government decision to ban all gatherings in order to prevent coronavirus, the important annual event will be held online. The Expo is being organised by the Ministry of Environment and Tourism, the Capital City Tourism Department, and the Ulaanbaatar Tourism Association NGO. Under the slogan ‘Let’s Plan, Travel and Explore’, the UB Expo aims to promote domestic travel amid the coronavirus lockdown.
The online event offers an opportunity to get to know about local tourism authorities, hotels, resorts, tourist camps, spas, insurance companies, ticket agencies, airlines, travel clubs, car hire agencies, and tour operators.
Head of the Capital City Tourism Department S.Batbaatar said “In 2019, Mongolia welcomed 577 thousand tourists, 10 percent more tourists than in 2018. We will promote the products and services of the businesses participating in the expo for a year. Expo visitors can download travel books, magazines, and brochures and watch online discussions, speeches, and introductions of the businesses engaged in the tourism industry for three days. Moreover, the first virtual travel magazine of Mongolia will debut on M+ mobile application during the Expo.”
