Earlier today (9 April), Speaker G.Zandanshatar made an important announcement during a speech in parliament. He urged lawmakers to consider releasing some prisoners in order to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

Therefore, Mongolian lawmakers need to study the matter and to draft a bill regarding the release of prisoners. The decision must be approved by parliament.

As of today, Mongolia has 16 cases of coronavirus; all of them were imported.
