Khuvsgul is one of main tourist attraction in Mongolia. At the weekend, State Secretary of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection G.Unurbayar, State Secretary of the Ministry of Environment and Tourism D.Ganbold, and the Governor of Khuvsgul Aimag (Province) L.Ganbold worked together in Khatgal, which is one of the towns of the province.
An important purpose of the visit, was for the officials to familiarise themselves with the location of ‘Nairamdal 2’ summer camp, which is to be established at Lake Khuvsgul, as well as the general planning of a sustainable tourism development project. They also visited the oddly-named ‘50:100’ tourist complex and pledged to resolve funding from the ministries of labour and environment for creating a favorable environment for to persons and children with disabilities at the complex and build a sanitary facility.
Incidentally, the ’50;100’ tourist complex that opened in July 2019 in the Erkhel Valley in the territory of the Alag-Erdene Soum of Khuvsgul Aimag, with the aims of developing tourism and promoting the tourism products and services in the aimag, received over 6,000 visitors last year.
