The National Centre for Communicable Diseases (NCCD) confirmed on 21 March that four more Mongolian citizens have tested positive for COVID-19, bringing the total number of the confirmed cases in the country to 10. The people in question arrived in Mongolia on a chartered evacuation flight from Berlin-Moscow-Ulaanbaatar on 16 March.
A French national tested positive for the novel coronavirus on March 10, becoming the first confirmed COVID-19 case in Mongolia. The other nine confirmed cases are Mongolian nationals who have returned home on chartered flights from abroad.
The coronavirus infected patients are now under treatment at the NCCD. According to health officials, Mongolian patients are stable and in mild health. The Frenchman is recovering well and will continue treatment for at least 10 days.
