Since the Covid-19 outbreak in China, Mongolian leaders, representatives from various sectors, students and even children have been expressing solidarity with China in its battle against the novel coronavirus epidemic. As Europe and the US now struggle to slow the spread of the pandemic – China begins to show signs that it has put the worst of the outbreak behind it; today(19 March) has been the first day with no reported new cases in China.

Mongolia has managed to remain Covid-19 free, through a series of tough lockdown measures; however, just last week the country was hit with its first cases, which were brought into the country by a French national and several Mongolians who were brought back on emergency charter flights.
