As first case of coronavirus infection is confirmed, theGovernment of Mongolia has issued the followingprecautionary measures:
Public Places
Visitors to public places are required to wear a surgical facemask and can be subject to temperature screenings.
Shops other than grocery and household item stores will be closed until 16 March.
Prohibition of public gatherings, events and meetings, such as conferences, sporting events and concerts until 30 March.
Closure of schools, universities, higher education institutions, kindergardens and vocational training centres, cinemas and entertainment centres until 30 March.
Prohibition of school age children to appear in public places until 30 March.
Reduction of operating hours of bars and restaurants until 30 March.
Quarantine
Foreigners with symptoms and those who have been to countries with confirmed cases might be subject to quarantine at a government facility on their own expense.
Travellers arriving from China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macao, Republic of Korea, Italy and Iran might be subject to quarantine upon arrival.
Travellers arriving from countries with confirmed cases of COVID-19 might be requested by the Mongolian Ministry of Health to self-quarantine for 14 days following their arrival to Mongolia.
Travel
Mongolian authorities advise against travelling to the country.
Suspension of flights to/from Berlin, Istanbul, Moscow and Nur-Sultan until 28 March.
Suspension of flights to/from South Korea, Japan, Irkutsk and Ulan-Ude until 28 March.
Suspension of all air travel to/from China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao until 30 March.
Suspension of international passenger train traffic until 28 March.
Suspension of passenger transport at the Mongolian-Russian border crossing points until 31 March.
Suspension of all inter-city passenger movement, domestic flights and domestic rail travel until 16 March.
Prohibition of entry of foreign nationals who travelled to Italy, Republic of Korea, Japan and Iran 14 days prior to their planned arrival to Mongolia.
Prohibition of entry to/from China and closure of all borders between China and Mongolia until further notice.
