On 3 February, Mongolia evacuated 31 students and a child from the Chinese city of Wuhan, following the outbreak of the new coronavirus. After the successful evacuation, the flight crew from the national flag carrier MIAT along with the students were isolated at the National Centre for Communicable Diseases (NCCD) for 14 days.
Earlier today (3 March), led by pilot G.Baatartsogt, the fifteen-strong MIAT crew was awarded for successfully bringing the Mongolian students back home and having to subject themselves to the two-week quarantine. Minister of Road and Transport Development B.Enkh-Amgalan presented the respected awards to the heroic crew.
