‘Mongolia’s border is under high control and has been on advanced emergency readiness and preparation due to the outbreak of the coronavirus infection in China’ said T.Tumurbaatar, director of border prohibition control. Since 6 January, Mongolian custom officials have discovered 100 suspected cases of coronavirus infection.
Currently, 83 border control officers are working at high risk of infection from the virus which has killed over 2000 people, mostly in China.
Mongolian customs officials have already denied entry and sent back 15 people who were suspected of having coronavirus; two at the Zamyn-Uud border crossing, one Chinese citizen at the Buyan-Ukhaa border crossing and 12 others at the remaining border crossings with China.
