Mongolia is ensuring healthcare facilities and medical staff are well prepared for coping with COVID-19, if and when it arrives in the country. The disease has killed over a thousand people and infected over 60,000 in China and other 25 countries.

On 11 February, the Third State Hospital conducted its fourth training for medical staff in handling an emergency situation if there is a confirmed case of COVID-19 in Mongolia.

There are 11,000 hospital beds in Mongolia; nearly 3000 are prepared for a possible coronavirus outbreak, said Health Minister D.Sarangerel.
