To mark Valentine’s Day, the National Statistic Office has released some interesting facts: As of 14 February, 2020, there are three people who have been named Valentine in Mongolia. A total of 9236 people were born on 14 February; most of them are named Khosbayar (meaning double celebration).
There are 3240 couples in Mongolia who were married on 14 February; 360 of them have the same names.
Originating as a Western Christian feast day honouring two early saints named Valentinus, Valentine’s Day is now recognized as a significant cultural, religious, and commercial celebration of romance and romantic love in many regions around the world. Despite its huge global importance, the day is not a public holiday in any country.
