A total of five cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in Australia. The fifth is a Chinese citizen who flew in from the southern city of Guangzhou. Travelling with him was a Mongolian citizen, reported the Ministry of Health today (28 January). The Chinese man was confirmed as having coronavirus on 25 January and was in a high fever when he arrived in Australia.
According to sources, the 34-year-old Mongolian flew to Australia on 19 January via a connecting flight at Guangzhou International Airport. The Health Ministry has confirmed that he has returned to Mongolia and is under strict quarantine.
