In an attempt to ease the traffic jams in the Mongolian capital and to ensure the safety of school children, the Ulaanbaatar city administration initiated a school bus service. The buses started running on 15 November 2019; currently, a total of 40 buses are running on 30 routes and picking up 5000 students from rural districts. The number of school buses has been increasing – reflecting the parents’ appreciation of the service.
Now, parents can track the exact whereabouts of their children using the ‘UB school’ mobile application and GPS bracelets.
