Mongolia’s rock sensation ‘The Hu’ has returned home following a four month-long tour concert in North America and Europe, which lasted from September to December.

Now begins preparation for next year, including ‘The Hu’s’ debut Japanese and Australian tours. ‘The Hu’ will be performing at headline events such as the ‘Download Festival 2020’, in Melbourne on Friday 20 March. ‘The Gerege Tour Japan’ concert will be held at ‘Shinjuku BLAZE’ Entertainment Centre in Tokyo at 6.30 p.m. on 12 March and Umeda Club Quattro in Osaka at 6.00 p.m. on 13 March. The tickets are being sold for JPY 7000. For the Japan debut, the band plans to perform ‘Gerege’ in Japanese and release an album in that language. The songs have been translated by Mongolia’s renowned literary translator O. Jargalsaikhan.

The Hu’s main inspiration comes from the ancient Mongolian empire of the Hunnu. Their music is a mixture of Western heavy rock music staples like distorted guitars and frenetic rhythms combined with traditional Mongolian instrumentation such as the morin khuur (horsehead fiddle) along with throat singing, all making for a very epic take on the genre.
